Larry Legend Foundation — LLF

Honoring a legend, while bringing a community together.

Home

The Larry Legend Foundation is an Indiana State University student organization that has been established in order to promote the building of a statue honoring Larry Bird in front of Indiana State’s Hulman Center.  We hope to accomplish this feat through various fundraising events on campus and throughout the community.   With the support of Indiana State and the student body we believe we can accomplish these goals.  This statue will not only pay tribute to the great Larry Bird, it will serve as a reminder of what the Sycamores achieved during that remarkable 1979 season.

“In the Fall of 2008, after attending a Notre Dame/Michigan State Football game in East Lansing, Michigan, I wandered past the Breslin Center and a 12 foot tall bronze statue of Earvin “Magic” Johnson.  In that split second that I admired the statue, I felt it was my duty to start the Larry Legend Foundation, to honor Larry Bird, the man that essentially put Indiana State and, to an extent, Terre Haute on the map.  What better way to honor Larry Legend than a 13 foot tall statue welcoming you to ISU’s Hulman Center.”
